Kevin Ray Dennis

Kevin Ray Dennis, 63, of Belle Fourche died December 31, 2021 at Monument Health Rapid City Hospital.
He was born March 27, 1958 in Kadoka, SD to Kenneth and Elva Dennis.  Kevin was one of five children, Teresa, James, Doyle, Kevin and Sarah.  He grew up in South Dakota and went to school in Belle Fourche, Eagle Butte and Midland area.  In his 20’s he moved to Wyoming to live with his aunt and uncle.
In 1984 he married Lydia who had a previous child, Angela.  To this marriage they had 3 children, Sasha, Justin and Latasha.  They later divorced and Kevin being a single father worked various restaurant jobs while devoting his everything to his children.  After a few years he met Edye and happily gained two more children, Rocky and Misty.  He accomplished one of his life goals and bought a house for his children.
In 2003 Kevin decided to relocate back to Belle Fourche to be closer to his family.  After his move to Belle Fourche, he started developing health issues that prevented him from working.  But it didn’t stop him from becoming an active member of the community.  He joined the community action team (CATS) and became the president.  This position was very rewarding for him as he got to help and get to know a lot of people in the Belle Fourche area.
Kevin enjoyed gardening, fishing, watching movies, going for drives, just being outside, being with family, but most of all he loved being with his numerous grandchildren.
He is survived by his brothers, Doyle (Mary) Dennis of Eagle Butte, SD and James Dennis of Clearmont, WY; sisters, Teresa (Norman) Allen and Sarah (Dennis) Popp all of Gillette, WY; a son, Justin Dennis (April Ault) of Belle Fourche; two daughters, Sasha (James) Lyons of Belle Fourche and Latasha Dennis (Daniel Bertolot) of Belle Fourche; step children, Angela Keiner of Branson, MO, Misty (Darian) Riter of Henry, SD and Rocky Mayes (Krystal Paulson) of Watertown, SD; 15 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
