Wilma Saucerman

Wilma Saucerman, age 81, Midland, S.D., died July 28, 2015, at the Hans P. Peterson Memorial Hospital in Philip.
  Wilma Jean Schofield was born June 12, 1934, in Midland, the daughter of Alfred and Anna (Larsen) Schofield. She grew up on the ranch five miles west of Midland and received her education in Midland. Wilma graduated from Midland High School in 1952. After graduation she moved to Minneapolis to attend lab tech school. She later moved back to the ranch to help her dad, as her mother passed away in 1952.
In 1953, Wilma was united in marriage to Gaylord Ford Saucerman, and made their home on his parents’ ranch in Stanley County until 1966, when they moved back to the ranch Wilma grew up on. To this union were born a son, Clint, and a daughter, Sheri. One son died in infancy.
Wilma enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Piecemakers Quilting Club of Midland. She also collected Blue Glass and enjoyed baking. She was a former member of the Nowlin Lutheran Church and Nowlin Circle. She was a current member of Trinity Lutheran Church as well as the Bad River Club and Birthday Club, all of Midland.
Survivors include one son, Clint and his wife, Prerry, Midland; one daughter, Sheri Wiechmann, Rapid City; three grandsons, Tel Saucerman, Rapid City, Ty and Talon Saucerman, Aurora, Colo.; three granddaughters, Noel Vohlken and Cori Carroll, Rapid City, and Raquel Croell, Sundance, Wyo.; 10 much loved great-grandchildren; her sister, Carol Hunt and her husband, Roy, Midland; her brother, Terry Schofield and his wife, Linda, Midland; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Gaylord, on March 26, 2015; her parents; and one son in infancy.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31, at the Rush Funeral Home in Philip, and one hour preceding the services on Saturday.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, August 1, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Midland, with Pastor Tel Saucerman officiating.
Interment will be at the Nowlin Cemetery.
