Vern Foland

Vern Foland, age 94, of Midland, South Dakota, died on Monday, January 14, at the Philip Nursing Home.
Survivors include his wife Carrol of Philip; three sons Mark (Karen) Foland of Midland, Robert (Sandy) Anderson of Hermosa, and James (Kayleen) Anderson of Pierre; three daughters Kay Foland of Rapid City, Mary (Creighton) Foland-Tevlin of Manhattan Beach, California, and Judy (Wayne) Foland-Yanda of Carlsbad, California; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; a special Uncle Tech (Ann) Foland of Canton; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter Sharon Ellwein; a great-grandson Dalles Brucklacher; a brother Otis Foland, Jr., and a daughter-in-law Dianne Anderson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the First Lutheran Church in Philip with Pastor Cindy Bisser officiating.
Interment with Masonic rites will be held at the Masonic Cemetery.
A memorial is established to the NAJA Shriner’s Hospital Traveler’s fund. A full obituary will follow in next week’s paper.
