Scott Haase

Scott Haase, age 56 of Lemmon, SD, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at his home.
Scott was born in Hettinger, ND on January 28, 1966 to Marvin and Betty Haase. His childhood was spent growing up in Lemmon where he attended Lemmon High School. He participated in sports such as wrestling and track. He took great pride in owning a few Ford Mustangs, the first of which he got in high school. Following graduation, he attended Mitchell Tech for lineman school. As an intern, he worked in Blunt, SD. Following his internship, he worked for Grand Electric in Buffalo, SD for a couple of years. This led to a job in Lemmon with MDU where he actively worked for 32 years. He was dedicated and took great pride in his job along with enjoying the work he did with his colleagues. Scott was known for having a soft spot for dogs as he carried treats and dog food in the MDU truck.
In high school, he met the love of his life, Michele Crevier, and they dated for four years. They got married at Calvary Lutheran Church on April 22, 1989 and have been married for 33 years. In 1993, the two welcomed their first child to the world, Zane Haase. Eight years later, Scott and Michele celebrated the birth of their daughter, Avery Haase.
For 12 years, the family lived at the Berg Ranch where many of their memories were formed. Scott and Michele always admired the house on Question Mark Hill and eventually in 2007, they became the proud owners.
After purchasing the house, Scott found a lot of pride in updating the property which included overhauling the inside of the house. Ultimately, his pine trees were his pride and joy. Other hobbies include deer and pheasant hunting along with fishing. For some time, he took part in the local fishing league at Shadehill and joined the fishing tournament. In addition, he spent a great amount of time boating and camping with friends. Sitting around the campfire with his special group was important to Scott as many great stories were shared. He enjoyed taking his motorcycle to the Black Hills to ride with his friends, as well.
Scott and Michele had many great memories of working together on projects, visiting their kids in Rapid City, and simply enjoying the little moments together. The two of them instilled passion, determination, and work ethic into their children. Their love continued to blossom as they watched their children grow up along with the birth of their first grandchild. When Scott became a grandfather to Liam Haase in June of 2022, a softer side of Scott was shown. He took pride and loved being a grandfather.
Scott and Zane took every opportunity to spend time together in the outdoors. Scott got Zane into hunting and fishing at a very young age. Up until a few weeks ago, they were tallying up who got more walleye or pheasants. Scott supported Zane in motocross for eight years by hauling him all over North and South Dakota for races. They both enjoyed tinkering in the garage together on boats, motorcycles, and cars.
Scott and Avery were the ultimate duo when it came to working together whether it was planting trees, cleaning the camper, or going for walks with the dog. Due to Scott being a huge dog lover, he allowed Avery to get a black lab (Remi) which Michele was very much against. However, Remi became Scott’s best companion.
Scott left a wonderful mark in the hearts of those he loved and he will be very dearly missed.
Scott is preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Hilda Haase, Clarence and Dorothy Plocek; and father-in-law, Dennis Crevier.
Keeping him in their fondest memories are his wife, Michele; daughter, Avery (James Odell); Lemmon, SD; son and daughter-in-law; Zane and Taylor Haase; grandson, Liam Haase, Rapid City, SD; his parents, Marvin and Betty Haase, Lemmon, SD; mother-in-law, Sharon Crevier, Lemmon, SD; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jeff and Mary Haase, Lemmon, SD; Greg and Kelly Haase, Minot, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews.
