Pearl Dull Knife, age 66, Wanblee, S.D., made her journey to the Spirit World Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018, at the Bennett County Hospital in Martin.
Margeline Pearl Moves Camp Dull Knife was born Aug. 18, 1951, to Norman “Nick” Janis and Marian Moves Camp Yellow Elk, and stepfather Leonard Yellow Elk, Sr.
Pearl is survived by her sons, Guy Dull Knife III, Red Water, and Ronald Dull Knife, Wanblee; daughters, Terri Dull Knife, Tanya Dull Knife, Tonette Dull Knife and Crystal Dull Knife, all of Wanblee; brothers, Richard Moves Camp and Leonard Yellow Elk, Jr; sisters, Evelyn Moves Camp, Linda Yellow Elk, Joyce Doyle, Cora Yellow Elk, Glenda Yellow Elk, Sue Yellow Elk, Renee Yellow Elk and Lenee Yellow Elk, all of Wanblee, Ferris Janis, Kyle, Bonnie Olney, Seattle, Wash., and Margaret Rainbow, Lake Andes; 27 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, Norman Janis, Marian and Leonard Yellow Elk, Sr;. grandparents, Samuel and Winnie Moves Camp; her spouse, Ivan Peter Bordeaux; son, Norman “Domnick” Janis; sisters, Virginia Malanovich and Norma Janis; brother Curtis Janis; grandchildren, Simora Pumpkin Seed, Tiegan Howe, Traytin Dull Knife and Robert Howe; nephew, Erik Janis; and niece, Mary Dull Knife.
Wake services begin at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, and continue until the service time Monday at the Crazy Horse School in Wanblee.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Jan. 29, at the Crazy Horse School in Wanblee.
Interment will be at the Moves Camp family plot in Wanblee.
