Linda D. Jarvis

Linda D. Jarvis, age 67, Pierre, S.D., passed away October 14, 2017. 

 

Linda Diane Jarvis was born June 13, 1950 in Wall, S.D., the daughter of Robert and Lola (Hall) Simpfenderfer.

Linda grew up south of Wall on a farm and attended the public school where she graduated from Wall High School in 1968. 

 

Linda married Ken Jarvis on October 16, 1971 in Wall. They lived in Colorado and Aberdeen before moving to Pierre in 1983 where they resided for many years. After Ken’s death, she moved to Detroit Lakes, Minn., where she spent several years with her special friend Dennis Kropuenske until he passed. Linda then moved back to Pierre.

 

Linda was a housewife, raising their three children. As the boys grew older, she worked various jobs from catering to helping Jerry at his pet store for several years. Most recently she worked at Dakotamart in Pierre.

Linda enjoyed camping, square dancing and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Pierre.

 

Grateful for having shared her life are her three sons, Jason Jarvis and his son, Jake, and Jaina and Allisha of Pierre, Jerry Jarvis and his wife, Doralynne, and their children, Lauren and Evan of Yankton, S.D., Jordan Jarvis and his wife, Jill, of Las Vegas, Nev.; her mother, Lola Simpfenderfer; sisters, Retha and Kathy Simpfenderfer; brother, Van Simpfenderfer and his wife, Cathy, all of Wall; one nephew and three nieces; brother-in-law, Lyle and his wife, Carol Rae, of Rapid City, S.D.; and a host of other relatives and friends. 

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Ken; father, Robert; two brothers, Gary and Bob; and daughter-in-law, Mary.

 

Services were held Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at Feigum Funeral Home, Pierre. Interment was held Wednesday afternoon at the Wall Cemetery, Wall.
