James Angell

After a long and hard battle with ALS, Jim went to be with his Lord on March 11, 2019 at Madigan Army Hospital Tacoma, Washington. Jim was born July 21,1940 in Okanogan, Wash to Glen and Edna Angell. Jim graduated from Dayton High School in 1958. Jim finished his education with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics Engineering. In July 1961, Jim joined the Marine Corps. Jim went through boot camp at MCRD San Diego California and School in Camp Pendleton California. After a School, Jim was stationed at 1st Marine Air Wing, headquarters Support Squadron 1 at Iwakuni Marine Air base in Iwakuni, Japan. When Jim returned form overseas he was stationed at mCRD San Diego, California as an instructor at the Basic Electronics School. In June 1967 Jim was discharged form the Marine Corps with 100% permanent disability retirement. Soon after retirement form the Marine Corps, Jim wnet to work at Navy Calibration Laboratory, Naval Torpedo Station, Keyport, Washington. After 32 years Jim retired from the Navy Calibration Laboratorym Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Keyport, Keyport, Washington as GS-12 Supervisory Electronics Engineer Branch Head.
Jim belonged to the American Legion Post 43 Sedro Woolley, Washington. Over the 51 years that Jim belonged to the American Legion he held many local, state, and national offices. Jim also belonged to the 40 et 8, Olympic Detachment of the Marine Cops League,  “Chairman of Toys For Tots”, life member Disabled American Veterans, Fleet Reserve Ass. and a 45 year member of the Eagles.
Jim spent many happy days visiting his Mother-in-Law Billie Hancock getting to know the area and the people around Philip S.D. He wanted to spend one snowy winter in Philip, but that was not to be. Jim loved his family very much and will be greatly missed.
Jim was proceeded in death by his parents Glen and Edna Angell of Dayton, Washington, two sisters Glenna and Ruth, step-son Sgt. Charles D. Neff, Father and Mother-in-law Dale and Billie Hancock of Philip, S.D. and nephew Roger Schulz, of Philip S.D.
Jim is survived by his wife Judith Hancock Neff, Gram Washington, step daughter and husband  Margo and Leo Thayer. Four grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and one special nephew and his wife Lary and Rose Ann Schulz of Philip, S.D.
