Harriet V. Yun

Harriet V. Yun, age 96 of Yankton, SD went home to her Lord and    Savior on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Avera Sister James Care    Center, Yankton, SD.  Memorial services will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Yankton, SD with Rev. Winfried Schroeder officiating.  Burial of  her cremated remains will be in the Garden of Memories, Yankton, SD.  Visitations will be one hour prior to the service at the church and and her children will have a slideshow honoring Harriet’s life.  The Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home and on-site    Crematory, Yankton, SD is assisting with the service details.   Online condolences may be sent at:    www.opsahl-kostelfuneralhome .com.
Honorary urn bearers will be    her grandchildren: Amy Lacroix, Lisa Olson, Neal Lacroix, Nathan    Lacroix, Bethany VerBeek, Leah Rezac, Mikayla Jones, Tyler    Mutchler and Jordyn Mutchler.
Harriet Vanita Lewis was born September 9, 1922 on the family    farm near Faith, SD. She was baptized October 1, 1922 at St. Paul’s Lutheran church and confirmed there on May 9, 1937. She    attended school in Faith until 1940 when they moved to Rapid City    SD. She attended Black Hills Business college after graduation    until WW11 broke out and went to work for Buckingham Transportation Company. In July of 1946 she married Edward Yun. Three children were born to this union: Terry, Suzanne and Laurie. In 1971 the family moved to Yankton, SD. Harriet worked for Andy Thompson Real Estate, Community Health Nurse Office and later as a casual at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital Medical Library.
Harriet enjoyed cross stitching towels, baking cookies, playing    scrabble, reading and writing.    Harriet is survived by her three children: Terry (Eve) Yun of    Aberdeen SD, Suzanne Mutcher of Yankton SD and Laurie (Marlin)    Lacroix of Yankton SD; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren    and several nieces and nephews.
Harriet was preceded in death by her parents, William Manon Lewis and Louise Helene Elizabeth Matter; her brother Robert, Lewis;    her sister, Reva Pierce and grandsons: Aaron Mutchler, Joel    Mutchler and Nicholas Lacroix.
