Generose Knispel

Generose Voanne Knispel was born October 22, 1951, in Winner, South Dakota, to John and Marguerite (Miller) Knispel. She passed away May 18, 2018, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
    She attended school at White River Public School grades 1-12, and then went on to obtain a teaching degree at the University of South Dakota, where she earned a Master’s in Education. Upon graduation from the University of South Dakota, she taught for 38 years in the Todd County School District, retiring in 2012. After retirement she volunteered at the Jones County School District until this April.
    She was a member of the United Methodist Church and also a member of Eastern Star.
    Survivors include three brothers, John (Judith), Gary, and Ronald; and sister, Jeanette (Jay) Drayer; and a host of nephews, nieces, and many relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Janis Knispel and Carol Knispel Applebee, and brother Charles Knispel.
    A celebration of life service will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 24, at the Murdo Elementary Mini Gym in Murdo.

    Private family interment will take place at the White River Cemetery.
    The family respectfully requests no flowers. All memorials sent in Generose’s memory will be donated to the Carol Applebee /Linus Miller Scholarship fund for Jones County students who attend College or Vocational School. Cards and memorials may be sent to P.O. Box 211, Murdo, SD 57559.
