Dwight “Junior” Corsaut, age 79, Port Alberni, British Columbia, Canada, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2017, at the West Coast General Hospital in Port Alberni.
Junior was born Oct. 24, 1938, in Carroll, Iowa, the son of Dwight and Elinor (McKeen) Corsaut.
In January 1948, the family moved to Wasta. In May 1952, they moved to Ceres, Calif., where he finished his elementary education and graduated from Turlock High School, Turlock, Calif.
Junior returned to South Dakota and worked on several ranches, enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served three years, and then worked as a welder and mechanic in Canada.
Survivors include a brother, Richard Corsaut, Waterford, Calif.; and a sister, Peggy (Neal) Corsaut Lurz, Wall; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Junior was preceded in death by his parents; five siblings, sisters, JoAnn Cool and Dorothy Jarrell; brothers, Harold Corsaut, LaVerne Corsaut and Wendell Corsaut.
Military graveside services are at 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 20, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
