Clay Jon Benoist

Clay Jon Benoist, age 27, of Interior, South Dakota, formerly of Eagle Butte, died on Saturday, July 20, 2019 on the interstate near Kadoka.
Survivors include his parents Allen and Lisa Benoist of Eagle Butte; three sisters Kyanne Potter and her husband Michael and their two children Tynan and Xavier and Ettie Mae Benoist both of Artesia, New Mexico and Megan Lawrence of Eagle Butte; three “brothers” Lincoln, Kael, and Braylon; his maternal grandmother Mae Whirlwind Horse of Interior; his paternal grandfather Russell Benoist of Eagle Butte; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Clay was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Elijah Whirlwind Horse, and his paternal grandmother Cordelia Benoist.
A rosary service will be held on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 7 p.m. MDT with a time of fellowship from 8 p.m. to midnight at the old Agency Building in Eagle Butte.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 5 p.m. at the Interior Fire Hall in Interior.
