Cindy Ann Frankfurth & Arlen “Hoss" Frankfurth

Cindy Frankfurth, age 61, of Faith, SD, passed away on September 14, 2021 and Arlen "Hoss" Frankfurth, age 60, passed away at their home in Faith on Thursday, September 16, 2021.

Service of Remembrance for Cindy and Hoss were held Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at the Community Center in Faith, SD.  Rev. Calvin Chapman officiated.  Visitation was held priro to the service. A lunch and time of fellowship were held after the service, at the Community Center in Faith.

Cindy Frankfurth (Marshall) was born March 24, 1960 in Conrath WI, to Geraldine Papernick and Bernard Marshall. She passed away at home on September 12, 2021 in Faith, SD.

Arlen (Hoss) Duane Frankfurth was born July 23, 1961 in Faith, SD, to Doris Teller and Marvin Frankfurth. He passed away at home on September 14, 2021 in Faith, SD.

Hoss and Cindy met May 30, 1979 on the Herman Ranch in Draper, SD. It was 30 days later that they were married on June 30, 1979. Hoss had told Cindy that he was 25. It wasn't until they went to sign the marriage certificate that she found out that he was 17 because his mother, Doris, had to sign for him to get married. They were married in Dupree, SD. They spent their honeymoon at the Star Lite Motel in Faith, SD.

Hoss and Cindy worked on various ranches for the next several years. They worked on the Herman Ranch in Draper, SD, Jennings Ranch in Highmore SD, the Diamond D Ranch near Midland, SD, a ranch near Hamill, SD, a ranch in Sundance, WY, and then they went to Rozet, WY and Hoss worked in the oil fields for Kissack Water and Oil.  

While residing in Rozet, WY they welcomed their daughter Amanda. They were there for two years and then they moved to Colton, SD and Hoss got into the trucking industry. Hoss started working for Van Whye Trucking. While he was working there, Cindy started working for the parachute factory in Sioux Falls, SD. 

In 1989 they moved to Faith, SD. That is when Hoss started at the Police Academy, then he was a part time officer for Faith. In 1990 Cindy started as a Dispatcher for the Faith Area Dispatch. In 1992 Hoss and Cindy welcomed their son Austin. 

  In 1994 Hoss became Chief of Police in Faith. Hoss and Cindy both wore many different hats during their time in law enforcement, ambulance, and EMS within the community. Both Hoss and Cindy were involved in many, many local, state, national, and federal associations throughout their careers. Hoss and Cindy were very giving of their time and were willing to help those in need and offered a hand to whomever reached out expecting nothing in return. They did this tirelessly and consistently. After retirement, Hoss worked as an inspector for GGS and Cindy worked at Faith Cenex. 

Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Bernard Marshall. Hoss was preceded in death by his father, Marvin and his mother, Doris (Teller). They were preceded in death by grandchildren, Boe and Jackson Hooker.  

They leave to mourn, children Amanda (Michael) and Austin, grandchildren Raylee, Cheyanne, Dixie, Wyatt, Temperance, Greyson, and Erhyn. Cindy's mother Geraldine Marshall, Cindy's brothers Joe, Michael (Dawn), Bernie (Melanie) and sister April (Kevin). Hoss' sister Marva (Gary). an aunt, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
