Brittany Ann Boyd

Brittany Ann Boyd, 37 of Rapid City passed peacefully on March 31, 2020.
Brittany was born Aprill 22, 1982 in Sioux Falls, S.D. to Matt and Barbara (Hullinger) Boyd. At a young age, she moved to Murdo, S.D. where she would live and be raised by her maternal grandparents, Clarence and Anna Marie Hullinger. After her high school graduation from Jones County High School, she briefly attended Augustana University and University of Minn. Brittany had a deep love of travel and nature, so she decided to take sometime off to explore places other than South Dakota.  In her travels outside of South Dakota, she traveled to a large number of places including Europe and living in Spain for a year. Her free spirit and spunky personality made it easy for her to make lifelong friends in her travels. She made a lasting impression on everyone who crossed her path. Her infectious laugh was one of a kind as was she. She was definitely a jack of all trades from changing her own brakes on her beloved van to building herself a bicycle. She could do anything she set her mind to. Her musical talent was unlike any other. Throughout her life she was in many bands and played in many different cities and states. After returning to the states she lived in New Orleans and after hurricane Katrina she recalled meeting wonderful people, having only a bike as transportation, playing her music in the streets and even taking occupancy of an abandoned house that she and her friends fixed up. Brittany painted the house green. Here is where she met her dog and best friend Frankie. She rescued Frankie from the streets and rarely ever did they part from this time. Brittany loved meeting new people and learning their stories. She saw the good in people even when most couldn’t.  She was a giving person who loved freely. Brittany is survived by her mother Barbara Boyd of Sturgis, grandmother Anna Marie Hullinger of Murdo, her partner if life Justin( Severn) Ahlers and dog Frankie of Rapid City and many uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends. She joins her grandfather Clarence Hullinger and uncle Donnie Hullinger and cousin Heath Hullinger in heaven. Fly high Brittany, until we meet again.
